Senior living accommodation centre in the mountains of Madrid

The project tries to insert itself as an extension of the urban area. Imitating its materiality and physiognomy, playing with different types of sloping roofs that imitate those existing in the environment. Joining the existing party walls when necessary to continue the urban fabric. The modulation of the façades blends in with that of the surroundings, with controlled openings, with the full predominating over the void.

We also took advantage of the topography itself, taking advantage of the existing basement, which is the ground floor in its immediate contact with the streets of the town to optimize flows and differentiate the strict areas of the day center from the center for the elderly itself.

In a building of this type, simplicity of circulation and easy orientation are essential. That is why, based on this plot, we distributed all the rooms in a series of herringbone arms that serve the rooms. This distribution is ideal for favoring the orientation, ventilation of all rooms and living spaces and reducing structural costs

A series of interstitial courtyards are generated that will be recreational and ventilation spaces for the rooms themselves. The program is developed around these courtyards, which are interconnected by a large axis
along which the communication cores and rest areas are placed, favouring the orientation of users
